My work is varied in subject and materials: I paint what I see before me and try to capture something of what attracts me. I don’t like to overwork things although it’s not uncommon that I do; nevertheless, it’s the tension between free expression and precision which is part of the appeal of painting, with massive highs and lows depending on whether things are going well or not!
